WELCOME TO THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF
RADIO CONTROLLED MODEL CAR RACING
RADIO CONTROLLED MODEL CAR RACING
Hello and welcome to the world of Radio Controlled Model Car Racing in Dundee. This is a brief insight into to our club, what RC racing is about and where to do it, the costs involved in joining. It’s by no means exhaustive, but we hope it gives a good idea of where to start and where to get further information.
What do we do?
We are a long established RC club, since the mid 80's and continue to be a relaxed, family friendly fun club where everyone is made to feel welcome and the racing is taken in good spirit.
Currently we have club championships for 1/10th Electric Touring Cars and Mardave V12 Hot Rods. And have introduced on Off- Road evening for Buggies. Although we will never turn anyone away that wants to race, all we ask is the car is electric powered and won't damage our track. If your vehicle meet's those requirements then you can race anything and we do mean ANYTHING!
The racing caters for people from all backgrounds and doesn’t discriminate on sex, age or disability. It provides a challenging sporting environment where the skill required to drive and build the cars can be tested against other like-minded competitors.
Where do we do it?
Monifieth High School, Panmurefield Road, Monifieth, ANGUS, DD5 4QT
We race in a hall 21.5m x 12.5m with a separate pitting area behind the rostrum. Most weeks we race on carpet although there are some slippy floor/mixed surface events; We have a club calendar of events to inform you of the evenings racing schedule.
There are pit tables and chairs available to use, we ask that people respect the facilities and bring a cover for the table.
Mains power is available in a couple of places; you might need a long extension cable.
All mains powered devices should be electrically certified before use in the building.
When do we do it?
We race every Friday evening between 18:30 and 22:30 during the school term. The schedule for the evening is as follows:

Why do we do it?
It gives a you a great sense of achievement and self satisfaction, building and racing your own RC car against other club members, Also there is a great atmosphere between the members having fun and laughter (sometimes serious faces appear but not for long ). Knowledge is passed around so that no one feels left out and there is no shortage of advice to those who need it (One of our members is the Scottish RC Touring Car champion in our club)
